Peace Neighborhood Center’s Youth Services help young people affected by lower economic and social standing to discover options and make choices that lead them to self-sufficiency and greater social involvement. The various programs that comprise Peace Neighborhood Center Youth Services are all aimed at making this goal a reality.
It is possible for a five-year-old child to become enrolled in the REACH After School Program and, as they age, move into Alternatives for Youth for middle school children prior to moving on to the College/Career Prep Club for high school kids and young adults. That allows Peace Neighborhood Center to play the role of a stable environment in a child’s life for a period of up to fifteen years. For many of the youth that we serve, that steadying presence over their formative years is the most stable thing in their lives.
Because of this family atmosphere, Peace Neighborhood Center Youth Services is extremely effective in helping these youth find their path to success and breaking the cycle of poverty.
