James Corey

James Corey serves as the Executive Director of Development for the University of Michigan Alumni Association. He oversees a team of alumni relations, membership, annual giving, and major gifts for AAUM. He has worked at the University of Michigan for 7 years. Previous to this position, he was the Director of Corporate Relations for the Washtenaw United Way and also worked for Google. James brings a wealth of experience to the Peace Neighborhood Center board and a passion for education. His wife, Alison Corey, is a first grade teacher at Abbott Elementary and James previously held positions at the Leelanau Boarding School and Kadima Hebrew Academy. He holds a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Michigan, a BA from Kenyon College and is dedicated to helping Peace Neighborhood Center reach its goals.
Lamont Manley

Lamont hails from Detroit, but has been a resident of Ann Arbor for most of his post high school life (beginning with undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan). Lamont has been married to Patricia Manley (a life-long Ann Arbor resident) for 35 years. Lamont is on the Executive Committee of the Ann Arbor Branch of the NAACP and he recently served on the Board of Directors for the Huron Valley Chapter of the Project Management Institute (as their Vice-President of Finance) for 5 years. Lamont is a PMI certified Project Management Professional and is currently employed at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research. Lamont has held various technical and management positions at General Motors, Electronic Data Systems, Fry Multimedia, Ajilon and Compuware. Lamont holds bachelors and masters degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan. Lamont enjoys golfing, bowling and attending Michigan football and basketball games.

Ani Turner is Co-Director of Sustainable Health Spending Strategies at Altarum Institute, where she studies drivers of health spending and the economic impact of investments in social and environmental factors that determine health and life outcomes. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in mathematics, and returned to Michigan to earn a Master’s in Applied Economics. Ani brings her analytical skills and experience in management and business development to the Peace board and finance committee. She and her husband Brian Turner have lived in the Peace Neighborhood area for more than 20 years, spending many hours volunteering in the public schools, soccer fields, and 4-H fairgrounds as their two daughters attended Abbot, Forsythe, and Skyline.
Sheila Waterhouse

Sheila Waterhouse has served as secretary of the board of directors since 2012. She has experience in community, economic and higher education fields in the Ann Arbor area.

As the Communications Director at the Business Engagement Center at the University of Michigan, she manages marketing and communication programs that involved industry and academia at the university. She brings an industry background to the Business Engagement Center, having worked in marketing and communications roles in the transportation and consulting industries before joining the University of Michigan in 2011. Before starting at the BEC, she served in development and alumni relations roles in the Office of University Development and the Rackham Graduate School, fostering strong relationships and fundraising initiatives for alumni and parents.Sheila holds an undergraduate degree from U-M and an M.B.A. from Indiana University.

William Brinkerhoff

Mr. Brinkerhoff has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry focused in new product planning, corporate development, business development and licensing. He was president of AlphaCore Pharma prior to the company’s acquisition by Astra Zeneca in March 2013. Bill was co-founder and chief operating officer of Cerenis Therapeutics from 2005-2011. Previously, he was vice president of business development at Esperion Therapeutics, overseeing all strategic partnering activities prior to the company’s acquisition by Pfizer. Prior to joining Esperion, he oversaw U.S. business development, market planning and sales operations for Sankyo, a leading Japanese pharmaceutical company (now Daiichi Sankyo). Bill is currently CEO of EVOQ Therapeutics and holds a master’s degree in business administration as well as bachelors and masters degrees in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan. He and his wife, Kathy Sample, have three children and reside in Ann Arbor.

Susan has taught third through fifth grades at Lawton, Haisley, and Eberwhite elementary schools over the past 24 years. It was through her work as a teacher that she became familiar with Peace Neighborhood Center’s after-school tutoring programs as well as other services. She has been a volunteer at Peace for 15 years and is a strong advocate for all of their programs.

Kevin Hudson

Kevin Hudson is proud to currently serve the Ann Arbor community as a Class Principal at Pioneer High School. He has been honored to serve the students of the Ann Arbor Public Schools since 2004. He has enjoyed several instructional and administrative assignments, including School Social Worker and Class Principal. Mr. Hudson served as Program Coordinator with the Peace Neighborhood Center in 1990 where he spent nine years serving students, parents, teachers, and the community at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. He and his wife, Laura J., have four children and reside in Ann Arbor. Mr. Hudson is firmly rooted in the belief that the Peace Neighborhood Center offers the highest quality support, continuing its mission of creating an exemplary product for children’s academic, social, and emotional success.

Amy works in academic Information Technology at the University in Michigan. She became interested in Peace because of their dedication to the children and families of Ann Arbor and desire to improve the lives of those with academic, social, and financial needs in our community. She and her husband Jim have two children and live in Ann Arbor.
